REST by name…
I’m Rebecca Stepek, and I founded REST Interiors from my Cotswolds home in 2020, while still teaching. I had paid a local interior designer a huge amount of money to make bespoke cushions for me and I was not happy with the service or finish. So, I decided to do better myself! I have since left teaching to follow this dream of providing luxury, designer-led cushions to discerning UK and international clients.
At the time I had started an interior design course and the aspect that appealed most to me was the textiles; layering textures and tones and the effect that a bespoke scheme could have on a space. How a room could feel rustic or high-end luxe, and noticeably bespoke through careful design and application of the right soft-furnishings. A beautiful tassel or a tactile trim can change both the feel of a space, and also how you feel while in it.
Unique by nature…
I believe your spaces should make you feel special and unique, and that starts with considered design. In my own home, I didn’t want mass produced cushions that I could see on everyone else’s Instagram page. I knew what I wanted, and part of the appeal was that it would be unique to my home. I have realised that many clients want the same, but also need a little help in designing and realising the vision they have.
The business has evolved rapidly in the past year according to the demands of clients. I work with a limited number of clients each month to design and develop fabric schemes for their space that takes into account their existing furniture and their inspirational images. I also source and create ready made covers that allows clients access to bespoke quality, limited edition pieces at an entry price point.
